Join us for an organ recital with Katy Silverman on our 1877 Henry Willis organ

Katy Silverman is a professional organist and conductor and also works as a teacher and accompanist. She is Director of Music at St Mary’s, Battersea, where she directs the choir, organises the biannual recital series, and runs a successful organ and choral scholarship programme. Recent recitals include St George’s Hanover Square, St Mary-le-Bow, and St Matthew’s Bayswater.

As an undergraduate, Katy studied Music at Worcester College, Oxford and was the first female organ scholar of the college. She accompanied and directed the chapel choir, featuring on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Sunday Worship’ and performing in various cathedrals including St Paul’s, Gloucester and St Alban’s. After graduating, Katy qualified as a secondary school teacher and taught music for several years before deciding to devote more time to the organ. Before moving to St Mary’s she was the organ scholar at Guildford Cathedral and Assistant Director of Music at St Mary’s, Putney. Katy graduated with Distinction from the Master of Music in Performance course at the Royal College of Music in 2018, where she studied with David Graham, Andrew Dewar and Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin. She also holds the Associateship diploma from the Royal College of Organists.
