Due to the current global health crisis, You’re Dead To Me – Live, originally planned for 30 April 2020 has been rescheduled. You’re Dead To Me – Live will now take place on 18 December 2020. Your tickets will be valid for the new date. If you cannot make the new date, a refund will be available from point of purchase.
From Greg: “Sadly, the You’re Dead To Me live show has had to be postponed until 18th December 2020 and original tickets remain valid. I’m absolutely gutted, making this show is so much fun and the prospect of doing a live recording with a lovely, laughing audience was mega exciting. We will put our cheesy Alexander the Great puns in the fridge, and stick the metal breastplates in the cupboard. Public safety must, of courses, come first. But fear not, You’re Dead To Me shall ride again! Until that glorious day, keep yourself safe, look out for those around you and have another listen to all those lovely episodes of the podcast on BBC Sounds. Cheers, Greg”
If you have any concerns or questions please do get in touch to [email protected]. We appreciate your patience during this very busy time.
You’re Dead To Me is THE history podcast for people who don’t like history… and those who do. Greg Jenner brings together the best names in comedy and history to learn and laugh about the past. The podcast launched in Autumn 2019 and quickly topped the podcast charts and appeared in many Best Podcasts of 2019 lists. Listen to the podcast Here.
The podcast has covered a range of historical subjects so far, including The History of General Elections with Dr Hannah Nicholson and Catherine Bohart; LGBTQ History with Dr Justin Bengry and Suzi Ruffell; Boudica with Dr Emma Southon and Sara Pascoe; and Lord Byron with Dr Corin Throsby and Ed Gamble. Rhian Roberts, Commissioning Editor for Radio 4 Digital and Podcasts, says: “So many people have let us know they love the You’re Dead To Me podcast. The episodes from the first series have been downloaded or played more than 5 million times already. The live show will let them see those funny historical brains in action or those historically funny brains…one of those two.”
Host Greg Jenner is a British public historian with a particular interest in communicating history through pop culture. He is the Historical Consultant to all seven series of CBBC’s multi-award-winning HORRIBLE HISTORIES, being solely responsible for the factual accuracy of over 1,600 sketches and 100+ comedy songs, and is the author of ‘A Million Years In A Day: A Curious History Of Daily Life, From The Stone Age To The Phone Age’ – an entertaining gallop through the evolution of our daily routines. He has also recently become a TV presenter.
You’re Dead To Me Live will see Greg and special guest professor Michael Scott discuss the story of Alexander the Great.
