The Moth is an acclaimed nonprofit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. Since launching in 1997, The Moth has presented over 35,000 stories, told live and without notes to standing-room-only crowds worldwide. The Moth conducts eight ongoing programs: The Moth Mainstage, which tours internationally, has featured stories by Malcolm Gladwell, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Kathleen Turner, John Turturro, Molly Ringwald, Boots Riley, Krista Tippett, Rosanne Cash, Danyel Smith and Tig Notaro, as well as an astronaut, a pickpocket, a hotdog eating champion and hundreds more; The Moth StorySLAM program, which conducts open mic storytelling competitions in 30 cities: 27 in the US plus Sydney and Melbourne, AU and London, UK; The Moth Community Program, which offers storytelling workshops and performance opportunities to adults who are too often overlooked by the mainstream media; The Moth Education Program, which brings the thrill of personal storytelling to high schools and colleges in New York, and educators around the world; The Moth Global Community Program, which develops and elevates true, personal stories from extraordinary individuals in the global south; The Moth Podcast, which is downloaded more than 68 million times a year; MothWorks, which uses the essential elements of Moth storytelling at work and other unexpected places; and the Peabody Award-winning The Moth Radio Hour which, produced by Jay Allison at Atlantic Public Media and presented by PRX, The Public Radio Exchange, airs weekly on over 500 public radio stations nationwide. To date, The Moth has published three critically acclaimed books: The New York Times Best Seller The Moth: 50 True Stories (Hachette Books, September 2013), All These Wonders: True Stories About Facing the Unknown (Crown Archetype, March 2017) — described as “wonderful” by NYT’s Michiko Kakutani and Occasional Magic: True Stories of Defying the Impossible (Crown Archetype, March 2019) which debuted at #12 on The New York Times Best Sellers List.
Margins Cafe will be serving delicious, hot, homemade food at this event. All profits support The Margins Project, which works with people who face homelessness and crisis and is based here at the Chapel.
You must also have a ticket for this event to eat at Margins Cafe.
The Cafe opens to all ticket holders when the chapel doors open, scheduled to be 19:00 for this show.
We’re also taking limited early dinner reservations at 18:30 for this event. Be quick it can fill up fast!
How to book early dinner reservations:
You can book for dinner when buying your ticket through our site.
If the option doesn’t appear then it means dinner is fully booked.
If you have already purchased your ticket for this show you can check availability and book for all dates here.
If there are no tables available it will say ‘We are sorry but this event has sold out.’
Information for people with a reservation:
You’ll get an email with full details shortly before the event, however, you just need to come to the black gate to the left of the main entrance, marked Early Dinner Reservations at 18:30 and show your reservation and gig ticket.
The menu will be displayed here; it normally goes up a couple of days before the show. There will always be at least two hot meals, one of which will be veggie, to choose from, plus lighter bites such as quiche and salad. Check out the sample menu here.
Disabled Tickets and Essential Companions
We do not have separate tickets for disabled customers – just buy a standard ticket above. Essential companions do not need a ticket, but you do need to inform us in advance if you are attending with an essential companion.
We will happily reserve a suitable space for disabled patrons with specific access requirements. Please be in contact to inform us of any specific requirements you have and the size of your party. We will reserve a space for you in the auditorium and make the appropriate notes for our staff so they can provide any necessary assistance.
