Common and Kind 2019
‘Every performance, every moment was perfect. The most uplifting and life-enhancing finale I’ve ever witnessed.’ – Chrissy Kinsella, Chief Executive, Mayor’s Music Fund
‘Truly inspiring and thrilling… an amazing achievement.’ – George Monbiot
Common and Kind returns to the Union Chapel in 2019 for a fourth extraordinary concert, connected to a series of partnership workshops bringing together schools, adult choirs, refugees & asylum seekers. The sensational birth of Common and Kind in the summer of 2016 was followed by the creation of the international collaborative charity single Human Kind, featuring leading solo artists from across the musical spectrum (Dame Sarah Connolly, Cassidy Janson, J. Hoard, Snarky Puppy & Saida Tani) with a thousand singers and refugee groups from across the world.
In 2017, a second concert was the product of partnership workshops between adult choirs, refugee and asylum seeker groups, and featured another stunning line-up of solo artists. In 2018, a third annual project and concert brought together school partnerships for the first time, combining with refugees, asylum seekers and hundreds more adults from a range of community choirs, and another sensational solo line-up.
This year, the massed choir will feature a new set of school partnerships, bringing together children from a range of backgrounds from across London from boroughs including Brent, Haringey, Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Islington, along with refugees,
