Union Chapel Summer Fete
Celebrating 100 years of Votes for Women!
Sun 10 June 2018
Sunday 10th June, 12-4pm
Compton Terrace Gardens
Join us for an afternoon of games, arts, craft and music activities all inspired by the centenary of women’s suffrage.
We’ll be making placards, learning about the suffragette’s here in Islington and enjoying live performances celebrating women in music.
Union Chapel will be open for an architectural treasure hunt as part of open house families and in case of rain!
Enter our baking competition inspired by Women’s Suffrage Cookery Book, put together in 1909 to raise money for the cause.
Recreate one of four recipes from the book – feel free to put your own spin on it, embellish it and decorate it to make it a real tribute to the women who campaigned so tirelessly for the right to vote.
Bring your entries on the day, judging will start at 1pm, and anyone can buy a judging plate and cast their vote. The winner will claim baking glory and an actual prize.
The Margins Project are asking for donations for their drop in services for people facing homelessness. They’ll be collecting on the day.
