Organ Recital: Eleanor Carter

The final instalment of this year’s organ recital series is given by Eleanor Carter, former organ scholar at Clare College, Cambridge and winner of the Brian Runnett Prize.  Eleanor plays an inspiring programme of classic organ works, from Bach to Sweelinck, closing with one of the greatest tours de force of the repertoire: Duruflé’s Prélude et Fugue sur le nom d’Alain, a fitting conclusion to this year’s dazzling array of organ works.

– J.S. Bach: Canonic Variations onVom Himmel hoch”

– Sweelinck: Unter de linden grune

– Duruflé: ‘Sicilienne’ from Suite pour Orgue, Op. 5

– Duruflé: Prélude et fugue sur le nom d’Alain
