A lazy afternoon with music, tea and cake

An event for all ages, produced by Arctic Circle

On the first of the EFG London Jazz Festival events for this year Daylight Music presents Norwegian Hardanger fiddle Nils Økland (ECM/Hubro Music). His instrumental melodies will react and resonate with the chapel’s 19th Century space, taking us on a hushed, deep journey far beyond our resting place in the pews. Tomorrow’s Warriors present improvisers Kaidi Akinnibi and Lorenz Okello-Osengor, who constantly search for new inspiration, as can be seen in their recent collaboration with the Urdang dance company. They will for the first time incorporate the chapel’s Henry Willis Organ. Finally, we’ll begin the afternoon with award-winning saxophonist Helena Kay and pianist Sam Watt who marry their wildly eclectic backgrounds and influences and give us an opportunity to eavesdrop on a conversation between their two instruments.

With assistance from Music Norway.
