The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s Ann and Peter Law Experience Scheme returns to Union Chapel’s Daylight Music for the fourth year running. Directed by OAE co-leader Margaret Faultless, the 2019 participants will make their debut as an ensemble celebrating Daylight Music’s tenth anniversary. They will play two ‘tens’ – Haydn and Mozart’s 10th symphonies, performed on historical instruments, as well as the world premiere of a brass fanfare created especially for the occasion using the architecture and acoustics of Union Chapel. There will also be solo and chamber performances from some of the Scheme’s rising stars. For the first time the ensemble share the stage with a guest support slot, welcoming Flora Curzon and Francesca Ter-Berg, who form the lauded string duo Fran and Flora.

Fran & Flora
– have been described as ‘London’s best kept secret’ and ‘fiercely passionate’, (Max Reinhardt, BBC Radio 3 Late Junction), string duo Fran & Flora is one of the most innovative emerging ensembles in the UK. Their outstanding musicianship combined with compelling arrangements have led to their selection as BBC Music Introducing Artists 2018 and rave reviews. Violinist Flora Curzon and folk/experimental cellist Francesca Ter-Berg captivate their audiences with exquisite, soulful tunes from across Eastern Europe which they have learnt from many great masters of the Klezmer and Roma traditions.
