Life By The Throat tells the story of James, as his life goes through encounters with the criminal justice system, poverty, violence and addiction. Writer/performer Eve Steele is highly-skilled and experienced and has been a regular on Coronation Street and has appeared in other TV dramas. Eve has based the story on her own life experiences to make theatre that is full of heart and truth. Audiences have called Life By The Throat “emotional,” “funny,” and “moving” – “a phenomenal piece of theatre” and “a powerful performance.”
The performance will last approximately 90 minutes including a discussion led by Cardboard Citizens exploring the themes raised in the play.
“…Urgent story with post-show discussion successfully empowering audiences to talk, reflect and dare to hope for change….” Audience Member, previous Cardboard Citizens performance
