Union Chapel, Compton Terrace, Islington, London, N1 2UN.
Entry Requirements: Under 16s accompanied by an adult
Following our meeting in December, I wish to invite everyone together again to join us, have a cuppa, and further consider what we can do from here – together as a wider group of people and organisations – maybe here at Union Chapel, and maybe beyond.
And as the last meeting was so last minute and many couldn’t attend, the next meeting has a bit more notice – the afternoon of Thursday April 2nd (specific time TBC), here in the Sunday School Hall, Union Chapel, Compton Avenue, N1 2XD.
A specific agenda will be circulated nearer the time, but the event will be a mix of both open space – about ideas, concerns, work you want to share – and also specific discussions about forthcoming events you would like to hold here at Union Chapel – events you could co-create.
One of the clearest messages for us here at Union Chapel was how we could provide a space and support for people from all walks of life to meet, come together, discuss the issues they’re experiencing, find solidarity, resilience, empowerment, inspiration and support together, and get our voices and stories heard to tackle the issues we’re facing.
As such, over 2020-21, we’re opening up the Sunday School Hall to a few trial events, workshops, exhibitions and activities. We want to hear what you come up with, individually and jointly, that we may then help to put on.
For example, one key idea that was raised at our last meeting was a Solidarity & Support Fair (although I recall it was initially named an ‘anxiety fair’!), providing advice, guidance, support and inspiration to people who needed it.
If you’d like to come along, or know someone that might, please RSVP to Rachel at [email protected], stating a few things:
1) Your name & email
2) Any ideas you may have for open space sessions (these may be limited, due to space, but we’ll try to facilitate as many as we can!)
Hope to see you and continue a discussion of where we could go from here, in union…
In the meantime, here’s to our Europeans friends, and indeed friends across the globe.
Specific timings TBC.
