A lazy afternoon with music, tea and cake

An event for all ages, produced by Arctic Circle

Matt Calvert is the composer, guitarist, and keyboardist behind the instrumental experimental rock trio Three Trapped Tigers. He regularly collaborates with the Heritage Orchestra and is the musical director of drum ‘n’ bass pioneer Goldie’s live band. His acoustic, instrumental solo album, Typewritten, stuns with a flurry of acoustic guitars, piano, dulcitone, percussions, and woodwinds. ‘An orchestral acoustica beauty… utterly beguiling.’ (Electronic Sound)

Described by the Guardian as ‘one of the finest, most intriguing singers on the British world music scene’, Olcay Bayir lets her Turkish and Kurdish heritage inspire her music. Her exquisite Rüya (Dream) has been included by the World Music Charts Europe in their top 50 albums of 2019 as a “mix of traditional Anatolian songs and self-written Kate Bush-like songs… with a beautiful balance between modern and old” (Popmagazine Heaven).

Hailed as ‘queen of the qanun’, Maya Youssef brings the 78-stringed Middle Eastern zither to life as a stark contrast to the death and destruction happening not only in Syria, but also the rest of the world. Her debut album Syrian Dreams, produced by the legendary Joe Boyd, was highly acclaimed around the world and has led her to receive several prestigious awards and perform on prestigious stages such as the BBC Proms.
