event picture

Ksynia has an unusual background for a classical singer including a BSc in Psychology and several years spent working in marketing. Having been a prolific choral singer in her youth, Ksynia recently re-discovered her love of solo singing and is currently a student on the Postgraduate vocal programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London where she is taught by Elizabeth Ritchie. Ksynia will perform the role of Nancy in Britten's Albert Herring as part of the RAM's opera scenes in May. Recent opera projects at the Academy include the role of Climene in Cavalli's L'Egisto as well as one of the Flower-maidens in Wagner's Parsifal for Royal Academy Opera. Other roles include Anna in Jonathan Dove's Tobias and the Angel at the Buxton Festival in July 2007, the role of Cherubino in Birmingham Conservatoire's production of Figaro in March 2007 under the baton of Lionel Friend, as well as chorus work for British Youth Opera's 2006 season including Don Giovanni, Eugene Onegin and La Boheme. Ksynia will be singing in the chorus for the Buxton Festival productions of Handel's Samson and Lortzing's The Poacher in July 2008.

Oratorio work includes roles in most of the mainstream repertoire. Ksynia has been lucky enough to work with a number of consorts and choral societies, including Ex Cathedra, Armonico Consort, the Birmingham Bach Choir, Leeds Phiharmonia and many more besides and has performed in concert venues all over the UK as well as many European cities. Ksynia also regularly enjoys recital work and regularly sings a wide range of English, German and French song repertoire.
