– Behind the eye -
"Richard Keith Wolff’s visionary collection of, photographs, including rare portraits of John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix to his dissimilar recent work, are to be exhibited from Sunday evening the 16th of November 2003 to Friday night the 12th of December 2003 at the Union Chapel Bar, during selected events."
"A British-born photographer, filmmaker and painter who travelled extensively in the 60s and 70s, Wolff’s influences range from Native American folklore to French Impressionism to Psychedelia. The work on display includes an unusual selection of images that intermingle with photographs of Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton and Charlie Watts. "

"The artist took the photos when he was a student at the London Film School in Covent Gardens in 1969. The personal and philosophical effect these meetings had on the artist’s own work resonate throughout the show. In particular, Wolff’s meeting with Lennon and Hendrix gave him the power to challenge prevailing boundaries and bring his own experiences and expectations to his work. "

"The result is a versatile body of work, meditating on nothing less than the boundaries of existence."
Samuel B Jackson
