If you have some time to spare and would like to get involved with the work going on at Union Chapel, we have a variety of different volunteering opportunities.
Please have a read below and then complete our volunteering application form and email it back to us. That way we can make sure the right person gets in touch with you.

Volunteer at Events

We're currently re-thinking the role of volunteers at gigs - there'll be more information soon so do check back if you're interested in getting involved!

Daylight Music

Are you free on a Saturday morning and good and getting yourself out of bed (not too early)?
Would you like to be involved in music showcase events (award winning) Daylight Music?
This relaxed but professionally run series of events needs people to help collect donations, answer visitors’ simple questions, assist the performers, look after the merchandise stall and generally make sure everything runs smoothly each Saturday morning, with the show usually happening from 12noon-2pm. You’d be part of the friendly team run by the producer Arctic Circle. A little bit of clearing up afterwards. You don’t have to indulge in drinks and snacks as part of the job, but they will be available in the vicinity from the Margins café that runs during the show!
Visit the Daylight Music page, and facebook for a feel of what its all about.

The Friends of Union Chapel Building Workdays

The Friends of Union Chapel were founded in 1982 to help restore and preserve the fabric of Union Chapel. Whether you are a heritage lover, crafts person, restoration expert, gardener or DIY enthusiast, all ages are invited to take part in the restoration and care of this magnificent building and be part of one of the most exciting stories in Islington.
The Friends meet at the Chapel every last Saturday of the month to tend to the garden, polish the brass work, fix the guttering, and all manner of other diligent and curious activities, not forgetting the well-deserved tea and cake break at half time!

Margins homelessness Project

Margins has a large group of wonderful volunteers, without whom the Margins Project would not be able to run. We very much appreciate this and are all extremely inspired by their hard work and dedication. Many of our volunteers are ex-service users of the project, who, once back on their feet, have been keen to ‘give something back’.  We have around 25 core volunteers who help to run the weekly year-round Sunday Drop-In (morning or afternoon sessions) and Islington Cold Weather Shelter (Thursday evening, overnight and Friday morning, January-March each year).
The next recruitment for Margins volunteers will be in the Autumn 2013. Although they are not currently taking on new volunteers, Margins run recruitment about three times during the year. If you would like to register your interest in volunteering with Margins, please complete and return the volunteer application form on this page, and the Margins team will contact you in the Autumn.
