Guided Tours of Union Chapel

interior

People visit Union Chapel for many reasons, but rarely have the chance to appreciate fully the beauty, complex architecture, and extent, of our buildings.  From a secret passage, to a hidden garden, there is much the public doesn't usually see.

Guided tours lasting around an hour are led on the first Sunday of the month at 12.15 pm. Numbers are limited, so visitors are asked to book in advance on 020 7359 4019. Longer tours and discussions may be arranged and tailored to particular interests. They are led by Andy Gardner, Chairman of Islington Archaeology and History Society, who regularly presents more widely on Islington in the 1940s, and on Canonbury's social geography.

Visitors are asked to note that some parts of the buildings not usually open to the public have stepped access.

A donation of £5 per head is invited towards our upkeep.

Over the years we have been loved, unloved and loved again; bombed; abandoned; robbed; threatened with demolition; renovated; and restored.

It is a constant wonder what will happen next!
