Sponsored Events

If you would like to take part in a sponsored event (run, walk, cycle... bungee jump!) to raise money for the Margins Project, please contact our fundraiser for advice and tips and to discuss ways we might be able to support you on 020 7704 9050 or fundraiser@unionchapel.org.

Are you running the London Marathon?

Why not run for Margins!

The Margins Project operates from the premises of the Union Chapel in Islington and works with local people who are homeless, sleeping rough and marginalised.  We provide an opportunity for them to gain skills and experience that might help their long term prospects, whilst also giving the short term support in order to meet their immediate needs. In short, we aim to empower them to regain control of their lives, break the cycle of poverty and crisis and rebuild their lives away from the streets.

Islington is the 14th most deprived borough in England and the 5th most deprived borough in London with a very high number of rough sleepers. The Margins Project is at the forefront of outreach to this vulnerable group which, in the current economic climate is steadily growing in both size and need.

We are looking for runners who will take on the 26 mile challenge in April 2013 and in the process help raise vital funds for The Margins Project to help us to continue to support this vulnerable group of people.

We’d ask you to commit to raising £1,000 which will help us to continue our work in these difficult economic times.

To sign up please contact us directly at laura.michener@unionchapel.org.uk
