Friends Workdays

Come to our enjoyable Workdays and Archive Group Meetings!

Friends at Work in the GardenWe warmly welcome Friends and supporters to our enjoyable workdays.

These are generally on the last Saturday of the month (not December).  They are from 10.00am to 1.30pm and you can come for as long as you like. Getting to know this important building and providing vital maintenance to its fabric and contents is uniquely rewarding, and provides a chance to acquire new conservation skills and to  meet like-minded people. They are suitable for (virtually) all ages.

There are tasks suitable for everyone, including:

  • cleaning & polishing floors, doors & glass
  • keeping the Garden in good condition
  • keeping gutters, downpipes and roofs clear of leaves and other debris

Come to the rear entrance in Compton Avenue, and wear old clothes!  Materials will be provided, and protective gear when necessary.  Refreshments are also provided.  If the door is locked, follow the access instructions posted on it.

Contact Anthony Richardson for further details.

Library Archives

There is also an Archive Group, helping to conserve the Chapel's unique archive and library which has been here since the Chapel was built in 1879. Further details of its work are on other parts of this site here.

These meetings are held monthly on the last Thursday of the month (not December) at 7.00pm.  These are in the diary in the What's On section of this site.

Contact Richard Wallington for further details.
