stain glass window organ recitals

Download the Flyer for the latest organ recital details

Built in 1878 by Father Willis (the most prominent of Victorian organ builders), the organ exactly complements the Victorian splendour of the Chapel. Union Chapel was at the forefront of new developments in religious music under the ministry of Henry Allon when H. J. Gauntlett served as Union Chapel organist. As well as hymn tunes - for example, the tune to 'Once in Royal David's City' - Gauntlett composed anthems and voluntaries.
