On the Gilded Palace of Sin:
The Gilded Palace of Sin was formed in late November/early December 2006 when the previous band Vini and Pete were both in stalled. They went for a night out and contemplated their fates and decided it was for the best if they formed a new band making the kind of music that they liked listening to.The Gilded Palace of Sin has a musical direction, however the band aren’t sure what it is as the music has a way of running away with itself and the band just have to try and keep up with it.
On the Doomed Bird of Providence:
The Doomed Bird of Providence are a four piece group presently located in London and Colchester. The band perform songs that are grandiose, doom-ridden renderings of stories from early Australian history. The music draws attention to the more abject, harrowing aspects of this history embracing a Morricone style drama and the theatrical, story-telling dimensions of Jacques Brel.
On City Reverb:
On their debut album "Lost City Folk is a little bit chill (though a lot less than you might have expected), a lotta bit soul, a surprising amount of rock, and a hell of a lot of song. These are not dance tracks, but rather, concrete (ha!) pieces of music, most with verses and choruses, and even, perhaps, the odd middle eight. It will fit perfectly in your collection alongside those albums you surely must own by Lemon Jelly, Groove Armada and co." Presented by Union Chapel
