On Kitsch In Sync:
Kitsch in Sync is London's most fun loving a-cappella choir. We specialise in performing hit songs mainly from the 1980s as you've never heard them before. Why? Because the majority of our songs are arranged specially for us by our ridiculously talented in house music team. We perform all over London in clubs and pubs and can be relied upon to bring a sparkle to any occasion, as Musical Director Kat Yates explains: "In KiS (as we're known to our friends) we've really put the emphasis on fun - and our audiences relate to this. As a result we've performed at festivals, events and celebrations all over London and people always ask us back for more. Plus we sing all your favourite 80s songs - what more could you want? On Firefly:
Firefly's collaborative approach results in a fresh blend of contemporary, classical, folk and jazz, and their unique sound of close vocal harmonies, intricate textures and infectious rhythms, is at times delicately subtle, and at others riotously joyful. The band was born out of a series of encounters on creative projects in the east end and they've recently played at Spitalfields Music Festival and the South Bank Centre. Firefly are Jack Ross (Guitar & Ukelele), James Redwood (Violin), Sam Glazer (Cello), John Barber (Piano & Javanese Gender) and Bea Hankey (vocals).
On Eleni Mylona:
Eleni Mylona, born and raised in Cyprus, first started singing folk and traditional Greek music at the age of sixteen. During her university studies in Athens, she reached the finals of the Na I Eukairia music competition in 2001 after which she began working as a professional singer. She has had the privilege of singing with famous Greek artists including Yannis Spanos, Viki Mosholiou, Anastasia Moutsatsou and Andonis Mitselos and also fronted the group Para thin Alos for two years. Eleni then moved to Spain, where she was introduced to Flamenco culture. Eleni is currently studying music at the London Centre Of Contemporary Music in London where she had the opportunity to explore the London music scene. Last May was her debut as a solo artist, presenting for the first time her own original material, and mixing wonderfully sounds from all over the world. At the moment, she continues to work on her own music and experimenting with different styles including world, funk, jazz and flamenco music.
