What We Do
We were founded in 1982 in response to the attempt to demolish Union Chapel and have been working ever since to help preserve this Grade 1 listed building.
Join us on the last Wednesday of the month between 10am – 1 pm for a morning of (hopefully not too onerous) restoration and maintenance washed down with plenty of coffee!
You’ll find us digging in the garden, polishing pews, replacing the Chapel’s original umbrella stands, scraping off paint, fixing guttering and generally giving Union Chapel a bit of TLC.
The Friend’s Archive Group work towards cataloguing the Chapel’s extensive collection of papers, books and records. We are also looking for ways to find a sustainable future of this archive.
